Possible Causes

Blocked drain pump filter, Clogged drain hose or sump hose, Failed drain pump motor, Faulty pressure switch not detecting empty tub

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance. Keep towels and a shallow tray ready for water spillage.

  • Clean the pump filter:
    • Open the lower front access flap.
    • Place a tray and towels under the pump filter cap.
    • Slowly unscrew the cap and allow water to drain.
    • Remove debris (coins, lint, buttons) from the filter and pump impeller area.
    • Ensure the impeller spins freely.
  • Check drain hose:
    • Inspect the external drain hose for kinks or clogs.
    • Disconnect from the standpipe or sink trap and flush with water.
  • Inspect sump hose:
    • From underneath or rear, locate the large black hose from tub to pump.
    • Clamp and remove it, then clear any blockages (socks, lint).
  • Test pump operation:
    • With the machine reassembled, run a drain/spin cycle and listen for the pump.
    • If the pump is silent or only hums and does not move water, the pump motor is likely faulty and should be replaced.
  • If water drains but F05 persists: Check the pressure switch and hose for blockages as the control may not detect an empty tub.
