Possible Causes

Open-circuit wash heater element, Faulty heater relay on main board, Loose heater wiring, Faulty NTC sensor causing heater lockout

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance. Heating components can retain heat; allow to cool.

  • Access the wash heater:
    • Remove the rear panel.
    • Locate the heater element at the bottom of the tub with two power terminals and an earth connection.
  • Check wiring:
    • Ensure heater terminals are tight and free from burning.
    • Inspect the harness back to the control board.
  • Test heater element (for multimeter users):
    • Disconnect the heater wires.
    • Measure resistance across the heater terminals; typical values are 20–30 Ω.
    • Infinite resistance indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
  • Check for earth leakage:
    • Measure between each heater terminal and earth; there should be no continuity. Any reading suggests insulation breakdown.
  • If heater and wiring are OK: The heater relay or control board is likely faulty. Replace the main control board.
