How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply. Mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping.
- Inspect door gasket:
- Open the door and carefully examine the rubber seal all around.
- Look for tears, holes, or deformation, especially at the bottom.
- Remove any coins, bra wires, or debris trapped in the folds.
- Check retaining bands:
- Verify the outer metal or plastic clamp around the gasket is tight and properly seated in its groove.
- If loose, refit and tighten the clamp screw or spring.
- Control detergent use:
- Use only HE (high-efficiency) detergent suitable for washer-dryers.
- Reduce dosage if you see excessive foam on the door glass.
- If gasket is damaged:
- Remove the outer clamp, peel off the old gasket, and fit a new OEM Hotpoint-Ariston door seal.
- Refit inner and outer clamps securely.
