Possible Causes

Clogged moisture sensor, Blocked dryer air path, Faulty dryer NTC sensor, Underpowered heater due to partial failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance before cleaning or testing components.

  • Clean moisture sensor: Many Hotpoint washer-dryers have metal strips inside the drum or door area that sense moisture. Clean them with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove fabric softener film.
  • Check ducts and condenser: As above, clear lint from all dryer air passages and condenser.
  • Test NTC sensor: Verify the dryer NTC resistance is within spec. Replace if readings are incorrect.
  • Heater check: Confirm the dryer heater reaches full temperature. A partially failed element may heat weakly and require replacement.
