Possible Causes

Failed drain pump motor, Broken wiring to drain pump, Loose pump connector, Faulty pump driver on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and prepare for water spillage.

  • Check pump filter and impeller: As with F05, clean the filter and ensure the impeller is not jammed.
  • Test pump coil: Disconnect the pump connector and measure resistance across the pump terminals. A typical reading is 150–300 Ω. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a bad pump.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the harness from the pump to the PCB. Repair any breaks or burnt connectors.
  • Replace pump: If the pump coil is faulty, remove mounting screws, detach hoses, and install a new Hotpoint-compatible drain pump.
  • Control board check: If the pump and wiring are good but the pump never receives voltage during a drain cycle, the PCB pump driver may be faulty and the board will need replacement.
