How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool.
- Access dryer heater: Remove the rear panel to locate the dryer heater housing.
- Check continuity: Test the heater element and any inline thermostats/thermal fuses for continuity. Replace any open components with Hotpoint-specified parts.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Tighten loose spade terminals and replace any burnt connectors.
- Control board: If the heater circuit is intact but never energizes, the dryer relay on the PCB may be faulty. Replace the main control board if confirmed.
