Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil, worn carbon brushes on motor, jammed drum or motor pulley, damaged motor wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
- Check for drum obstruction: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is stiff or jammed, inspect between the inner drum and tub for foreign objects (coins, bra wires, screws). Remove the rear panel and check the belt and pulley for obstructions.
- Inspect drive belt: Ensure the belt is correctly seated on the motor pulley and drum pulley. If the belt is off or badly worn, replace it with the correct Indesit belt.
- Check motor brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor from the tub. Inspect the carbon brushes. If they are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with genuine Indesit-compatible brushes.
- Inspect tachometer coil: On the rear of the motor, check the small tachometer coil and its connector. Ensure it is firmly attached and wiring is intact. A loose or broken tach coil will trigger F02.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the motor and belt, ensuring all connectors are secure. Run a spin cycle to confirm normal operation.
