Possible Causes
Failed wash heater element, faulty heater relay on main PCB, loose heater wiring, faulty NTC sensor causing heater lockout
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance. Ensure the tub is cool before touching the heater area.
- Access heater: Remove the rear panel. The wash heater is usually mounted in the lower part of the tub with two heavy wires and an earth connection.
- Check wiring: Inspect heater terminals for burning or loose connections. Tighten or replace spade connectors as needed.
- Test heater element: Disconnect the heater wires and measure resistance across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Inspect NTC sensor: Many Indesit units have the NTC integrated with or near the heater. Test as per F03. A faulty NTC can cause F07.
- Control board relay: If heater and NTC test good, the heater relay on the main PCB may be stuck or burnt. Inspect the board for heat damage near the relay. Replace the control board if defective.
