Possible Causes

Faulty dryer NTC sensor, open or shorted dryer thermostat, broken wiring to dryer sensor, blocked dryer air duct causing overheating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully before working on the dryer section.

  • Access dryer components: On Indesit washer-dryers, the dryer NTC and thermostats are usually located on the heater duct at the rear or top of the tub.
  • Check airflow: Inspect and clean the condenser unit and air ducts of lint and fluff. Blocked airflow can cause temperature faults.
  • Test dryer NTC: Disconnect the NTC and measure resistance at room temperature (typically 20–30 kΩ). Replace if open or shorted.
  • Check thermostats: Test continuity across any thermal cut-outs or thermostats on the dryer duct. A blown thermostat will read open and must be replaced with the correct Indesit part.
  • Inspect wiring: Ensure all connectors are tight and wires are not heat-damaged.
