On some Indesit washer-dryers with vertical-axis or special drum systems: drum position error; drum may not lock in correct position for door opening.

Safety: Unplug the appliance before attempting to move the drum.

• Check for mechanical jams: Rotate the drum by hand to ensure it moves freely. Remove any foreign objects.
• Inspect position sensor: Locate the drum position sensor (if fitted) near the drum pulley or on the tub. Check wiring and connector seating.
• Sensor test: Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor changes state (resistance or voltage) as the drum rotates. Replace if no change is detected.
• Control board: If the sensor and wiring are good, the main PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly and may require replacement.
