How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before working on the door lock.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and the catch engages fully with the lock. Adjust the door hinge if sagging.
- Inspect door catch and handle: Look for cracks or wear on the plastic catch. Replace if damaged.
- Access door lock: Remove the front retaining band of the door seal and peel back the seal to access the door lock screws. Remove the lock and inspect for burning or mechanical damage.
- Test lock: With a multimeter, check continuity across the lock terminals when energised (only for qualified persons using safe test methods). If the lock coil is open or the mechanism is stuck, replace the door lock assembly with an Indesit-compatible part.
- Check wiring: Ensure the harness from the lock to the main PCB is intact and firmly connected.
