Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Kenmore combo from the wall outlet or switch off the dedicated breaker before any work. Do not work on live circuits.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes. Press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 10 seconds while unplugged to discharge residual power, then reconnect and try a cycle.
- Check outlet and supply: Verify the outlet has 120V (or 240V for some combo models) using a meter or by plugging in another appliance. Reset any tripped breaker.
- Inspect main control board (CCU): Remove the top panel (usually 2–3 screws at the back, slide back and lift). Locate the main control board in a plastic housing. Look for burnt spots, melted areas, or a burnt smell. Reseat all wire harness connectors firmly.
- Check for moisture or corrosion: If the board area shows signs of moisture, dry it thoroughly and correct any leaks before reassembly.
- Replace CCU if needed: If the F01 returns immediately and the board shows visible damage or you have 120/240V power into the board but no response, the main control board will typically need replacement. Transfer one connector at a time from the old board to the new to avoid miswiring.
If you are not comfortable working around high voltage electronics, contact a qualified technician.
