Possible Causes

Faulty dryer door switch, failed exhaust thermostat, wiring issue to dryer components, control board sensing error

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the combo and allow any hot components to cool before working.

  • Check door switch: Open and close the main door firmly. Listen for a distinct click from the door switch. If the door feels loose or the latch is worn, inspect the door lock/switch assembly behind the front panel.
  • Test continuity: Remove the front panel (if accessible) and test the door switch with a multimeter. Replace if it does not show continuity when the door is closed.
  • Inspect dryer thermostats: Access the rear panel and locate the exhaust thermostat or thermal limiter on the blower housing or exhaust duct. Check for continuity. A blown thermostat or thermal fuse will interrupt the drying circuit.
  • Clean lint path: Excess lint can overheat the dryer section and trip thermostats. Clean the internal lint duct, blower wheel, and external vent hose thoroughly.
