Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, misaligned door latch, broken door strike, wiring issue between door lock and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top or front panels.
- Inspect door strike and latch: Check the plastic door strike on the door for cracks or missing pieces. Ensure the door closes flush with the front panel.
- Reset lock: With power disconnected, wait 1–2 minutes, then reconnect and try to start a cycle. Sometimes the lock resets after a power cycle.
- Access door lock assembly: Remove the top panel and, if needed, the front panel or door boot clamp to reach the door lock on the side of the front panel. Check the wiring connector for looseness or corrosion.
- Test lock: Use a multimeter to test the lock's solenoids and switches per the tech sheet. If readings are out of spec or the lock shows signs of heat damage, replace the door lock assembly.
Do not bypass the door lock for operation; it is a critical safety device.
