Possible Causes
Loose tachometer connector on motor, damaged tach sensor, failed motor, wiring harness fault to control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the motor.
- Access motor: Remove rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom rear of the tub.
- Inspect tach connector: Many motors have a small connector for the tachometer coil. Ensure it is fully seated and not corroded.
- Check harness: Follow the tach wires back to the control board. Look for breaks or chafing.
- Test tach coil: With the connector unplugged, measure resistance across the tach terminals. Compare to service specs (often a few hundred ohms). If open or shorted, replace the motor assembly.
