Safety first: Unplug the unit. If water is inside, drain manually with a wet/dry vacuum or by opening the pump filter slowly.

• Wait for cool-down: Some models delay unlocking if water is too hot. Wait 5–10 minutes and try again.
• Manual release: Use the manual release tab near the door lock (accessed from the lower front or by pulling back the boot) to open the door.
• Inspect lock and boot: Check for damage or misalignment. Replace the door lock if it sticks mechanically.
• Check for standing water: If water remains in the tub, resolve drain issues first; the control will not unlock with water present.
