Possible Causes
Mechanically stuck inlet valve, debris in valve seat, incorrect water pressure, control board stuck relay (if filling only when powered)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn off the water supply valves and unplug the unit to stop filling.
- Determine if valve is stuck: With power off and water on, if water still enters the tub, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck and must be replaced.
- Inspect inlet screens: Turn off water, remove hoses from the valve, and clean the inlet screens. Do not damage the mesh.
- Replace valve assembly: Access the valve from the rear/top, disconnect wiring and hoses, and install a new Kenmore inlet valve assembly.
- Check pressure switch: If overfilling occurs only when powered, also inspect the pressure switch and hose for proper operation.
