Possible Causes
Loose or damaged wiring between CCU and motor control or UI, failed motor control module, failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing panels.
- Locate control modules: Remove the top and rear panels to find the main control (CCU) and any separate motor control unit (MCU) if present.
- Inspect harnesses: Follow the harness between CCU, MCU, and UI. Look for pinched wires, broken insulation, or loose connectors. Reseat all plugs firmly.
- Check for corrosion: Moisture can cause intermittent communication errors. Clean any light corrosion on connectors with electrical contact cleaner and allow to dry fully.
- Test operation: Restore power and run a diagnostic cycle. If F11 reappears, one of the boards may be defective.
- Replace faulty board: Replace the motor control or main control board as indicated by service diagnostics. Use OEM KitchenAid parts and transfer connectors one at a time.
