Possible Causes

Closed water supply valves, kinked inlet hoses, clogged inlet screens, failed water inlet valve, faulty flow meter (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and water supply before disconnecting hoses.

  • Check water supply: Ensure both hot and cold faucets are fully open. Verify household water pressure is adequate.
  • Inspect hoses: Pull the unit forward and check that inlet hoses are not kinked or crushed. Straighten or replace as needed.
  • Clean inlet screens: Turn off water, remove hoses from the back of the washer-dryer, and inspect the small screens inside the valve ports. Clean debris with a soft brush; do not damage the screens.
  • Test inlet valve: With power disconnected, measure resistance of each valve coil. Replace the water inlet valve assembly if any coil is open or if the valve does not open when energized during a test cycle.
  • Flow meter (if present): Some KitchenAid combos use a flow meter in the fill line. Inspect its wiring and replace if the control does not detect water flow despite proper pressure and valve operation.
  • Run a test fill: Reconnect hoses, restore power, and run a quick wash to confirm proper filling and that F20 is cleared.
