Door will not lock; cycle will not start and F22 is displayed.

Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer before working around the door lock.

• Inspect door strike: Examine the plastic door strike on the door for cracks or breakage. Replace if damaged so it can properly engage the lock.
• Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and fully. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging and not engaging the lock.
• Access door lock: Remove the front panel or the door gasket clamp to reach the door lock assembly mounted on the front panel. Inspect the wiring connector for secure fit and no corrosion.
• Test lock mechanism: With the lock removed, check for mechanical binding. Use a multimeter to test continuity across the lock terminals when the lock is engaged (refer to wiring diagram). If the lock does not change state, replace it.
• Reinstall and test: Install the new KitchenAid door lock assembly, reconnect wiring, reattach the door boot, and test by starting a cycle to confirm the door locks and F22 is cleared.
