Possible Causes
Detergent residue on tub and door boot, infrequent hot washes, door kept closed between cycles, clogged drain trap retaining water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning internal rubber parts.
- Clean door boot: Wipe the inside of the door boot with a cloth soaked in a mixture of hot water and mild bleach or a washer cleaner. Pull back folds to remove hidden residue.
- Run cleaning cycle: Use a washer cleaner tablet or 1–2 cups of white vinegar and run a hot cleaning cycle with no laundry.
- Clean pump filter: Remove and clean the drain pump filter to eliminate trapped lint and stagnant water.
- Improve ventilation: Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open between uses to allow the interior to dry.
- Use proper detergent: Always use HE (high-efficiency) detergent in the recommended amounts to reduce residue.
