Possible Causes

Blocked drain pump filter, Clogged drain hose, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Expect water spillage when opening the pump filter; keep towels and a shallow tray ready.

  • Clean pump filter: Open the lower service flap on the front of your Liebherr washer-dryer. Place a tray under the filter cap. Slowly unscrew the drain pump filter and allow water to drain. Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump cavity. Refit the filter securely.
  • Check drain hose: Inspect the external drain hose for kinks or crushing. Detach it from the standpipe or sink connection and flush it with water to clear blockages.
  • Inspect pump impeller: With the filter removed, look inside at the pump impeller. Ensure it spins freely and is not jammed by foreign objects. Remove any obstruction carefully.
  • Test pump motor: Access the drain pump from the rear or bottom of the machine. With power disconnected, check the pump coil resistance with a multimeter. If the pump is open-circuit, noisy, or does not run when powered during a drain cycle (test only if you are competent and following electrical safety), replace the drain pump assembly.
