Possible Causes
Foreign object trapped between drum and tub, Seized drum bearings, Jammed motor or pulley, Broken drive belt wrapped around pulley
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not force the drum to turn if it is jammed.
- Check for foreign objects: Look through the drum holes with a flashlight for bra wires, screws, or other items lodged between the stainless drum and outer tub. Gently rotate the drum by hand (if possible) to locate the obstruction. Remove via the heater opening or sump hose if necessary.
- Inspect drive belt: Remove the rear panel and check the drive belt between the motor and drum pulley. If the belt is off, frayed, or wrapped around the pulley, remove debris and fit a new belt.
- Check drum bearings: Try to move the drum up and down. Excessive play, grinding noise, or stiffness indicates bearing failure. Bearing replacement on Liebherr washer-dryer combos is complex and usually requires tub removal.
- Motor check: With the belt removed, see if the motor shaft spins freely. If seized or very stiff, replace the motor.
