Possible Causes
Failed dryer heating element, Open thermal cut-out or thermostat, Blocked condenser or airflow path, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before accessing the dryer section.
- Clean lint and condenser: Access the condenser unit (on condenser-type Liebherr combos) via the lower front flap or rear panel. Remove lint and fluff from fins and channels using a soft brush and vacuum. Ensure the internal lint filter is clean.
- Inspect airflow: Check internal air ducts and fan housing for lint build-up. Clean carefully to restore airflow.
- Test dryer heater: Locate the dryer heating element assembly (often around the air duct). Disconnect wiring and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Check thermal cut-outs: Test the thermal fuses/thermostats mounted on or near the heater for continuity. Replace any open safety thermostat with the correct Liebherr part.
- Check dryer NTC: Measure the resistance of the dryer temperature sensor at room temperature and compare with specifications. Replace if out of range.
