Possible Causes

Blocked pressure sensor hose, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor, Stuck-open water inlet valve, Control PCB water level circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close water taps. If the drum is overfilled, manually bail out excess water before tipping or moving the appliance.

  • Step 1 – Visual check: Confirm whether the drum is overfilled or empty when E04 appears. Overfilling suggests a level sensing or valve issue; an empty drum suggests a sensor or PCB fault.
  • Step 2 – Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the bottom of the tub to the pressure sensor. Check for kinks, splits, or disconnections. Remove the hose from the sensor and blow through it to clear soap scum or lint.
  • Step 3 – Check pressure sensor: Ensure the electrical connector is firmly seated. If the hose is clear but E04 persists, the pressure sensor may be misreading. Replacement is straightforward: disconnect the connector and hose, release the mounting clip, and fit a new sensor.
  • Step 4 – Test inlet valve: If water continues to flow into the drum even when the machine is off, the water inlet valve is stuck open mechanically. Turn off the taps immediately and replace the inlet valve assembly.
  • Step 5 – PCB diagnosis: If a new sensor and valve do not resolve the issue, the main control PCB may be misinterpreting the level signal. This is an advanced repair and usually requires a technician and possibly a replacement PCB.
