Possible Causes
Loose or damaged tachometer sensor on motor, Broken tachometer wiring, Slipping or worn drive belt, Overloaded or unbalanced load causing control to abort spin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels or touching the motor and belt.
- Step 1 – Check load and balance: Ensure the drum is not overloaded and that heavy items (e.g. towels) are evenly distributed. Run a spin-only cycle with a smaller, balanced load to see if E08 clears.
- Step 2 – Inspect drive belt: Remove the rear panel and check the belt for fraying, glazing, or slackness. If the belt slips easily or shows cracks, replace it with a compatible Logik drive belt.
- Step 3 – Examine tachometer: On the rear of the motor, locate the tachometer coil. Confirm it is firmly seated and not cracked. Check the connector and wiring back to the PCB for damage.
- Step 4 – Electrical test: With a multimeter, measure resistance of the tachometer coil (typically a few hundred ohms). An open circuit indicates a failed tachometer; replace the motor or tachometer assembly depending on design.
- Step 5 – Control logic: If mechanical and electrical checks pass but E08 persists, the main PCB may be misreading the tachometer signal. This is an advanced repair and usually requires PCB replacement.
