Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main PCB, Faulty control panel PCB, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Firmware communication error

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or top cover.

  • Step 1 – Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10 minutes to allow the electronics to fully discharge. Reconnect and test. If E15 returns, proceed to hardware checks.
  • Step 2 – Inspect control fascia: Check for signs of moisture or detergent spills around the buttons and display. Dry the area thoroughly and allow time for internal moisture to evaporate.
  • Step 3 – Check ribbon cables: Remove the top cover and, if necessary, the control panel. Locate the ribbon cable(s) between the user interface board and the main PCB. Reseat both ends carefully, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
  • Step 4 – Visual inspection of UI board: Look for corrosion, cracked solder joints, or burnt components on the control panel PCB. Replace the UI board if damage is evident.
  • Step 5 – Main PCB: If cables and UI board are sound but E15 persists, the main PCB may have a communication fault. Replacement of the main board is typically required and best done by a technician.
