Possible Causes

Stuck door interlock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control PCB not sending unlock signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off and unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with tools as this can damage the cabinet and glass.

  • Step 1 – Wait for delay: Many Logik washer-dryers have a 1–2 minute safety delay before unlocking. Wait this period and listen for a click.
  • Step 2 – Emergency release: Check the lower front area or behind the filter flap for a manual door release pull cord. Gently pull to unlock the door.
  • Step 3 – Inspect door lock: With the door open and power disconnected, remove the door seal retaining band and access the door lock. Check for mechanical damage or signs of overheating.
  • Step 4 – Test door lock: Use a multimeter to test the lock coil and switch contacts. Replace the door interlock assembly if readings are out of spec or if it sticks mechanically.
  • Step 5 – Handle and latch: Inspect the door handle and latch hook for cracks or wear. Replace if the latch does not fully engage or release.
  • Step 6 – PCB control: If a new lock does not resolve E16, the main PCB may not be energising the unlock circuit. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
