Possible Causes
Severely unbalanced laundry load, Worn suspension shock absorbers, Broken or weakened drum springs, Faulty imbalance sensor (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before moving or tilting it.
- Step 1 – Redistribute load: Open the door (once safe) and redistribute laundry evenly around the drum. Remove heavy items if the drum is overfilled. Run a spin-only cycle.
- Step 2 – Check appliance level: Ensure the washer-dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the feet and lock them in place.
- Step 3 – Inspect suspension: Remove the rear panel and gently press down on the drum. It should move smoothly and return without excessive bouncing. If the drum bounces or bangs, the shock absorbers may be worn and should be replaced in pairs.
- Step 4 – Check springs and weights: Inspect the top suspension springs and concrete or cast-iron counterweights for cracks or looseness. Tighten mounting bolts and replace damaged parts.
- Step 5 – Sensor (if present): Some models use an imbalance sensor. Check its wiring and mounting. Replace if physically damaged.
