Possible Causes
Intermittent motor wiring connection, Overheating motor, Faulty motor control on PCB, Excessive mechanical resistance in drum (bearing or foreign object)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor or drum.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Rotate the drum by hand. If you feel scraping or tight spots, inspect for foreign objects between inner and outer drums via the heater or sump opening.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Remove the rear panel and check the motor connector and harness for looseness or damage. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Step 3 – Motor temperature: If the motor is extremely hot after use, allow it to cool and try again. Persistent overheating suggests a failing motor that should be replaced.
- Step 4 – PCB motor drive: If mechanical movement is free and wiring is intact but E20 persists, the motor drive circuit on the PCB may be faulty. Professional testing and PCB replacement are recommended.
