Possible Causes

Frequent low-temperature washes, Excessive detergent use, Standing water in door seal folds, Blocked drain causing stagnant water

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use appropriate cleaning agents and avoid mixing chemicals (e.g. bleach with acids).

  • Step 1 – Drum clean cycle: Run an empty 90°C maintenance wash with a washing machine cleaner or a cup of white vinegar (if manufacturer allows) to kill bacteria and remove residue.
  • Step 2 – Clean door seal: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth soaked in mild detergent or diluted bleach. Remove lint and standing water.
  • Step 3 – Clean detergent drawer: Remove and wash the drawer and housing to clear mould and soap scum.
  • Step 4 – Drain system: Clean the pump filter and ensure the machine drains fully to avoid stagnant water.
  • Step 5 – Ventilation: Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open between uses to allow drying and reduce odour build-up.
