Possible Causes
Blocked lint filter or exhaust duct, Failed or stuck high-limit thermostat, Blower wheel obstruction, Faulty control temperature regulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Allow the dryer section to cool completely before servicing.
- 1. Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter. Wash with warm soapy water if coated with fabric softener residue, then dry completely.
- 2. Inspect exhaust duct: Disconnect the exhaust hose from the back and check for lint clogs or crushed sections. Clean or replace as needed.
- 3. Check internal ducts and blower: Remove the rear panel and inspect the blower housing and internal ducts for lint buildup or foreign objects. Clean with a vacuum and brush.
- 4. Test high-limit thermostat: With wires disconnected, check for continuity. A thermostat that remains open at room temperature must be replaced.
- 5. Verify blower wheel operation: Spin the blower wheel by hand; it should turn freely without wobble. Replace if cracked or loose on the motor shaft.
- 6. After cleaning and part replacement: Reassemble and run a timed dry cycle while monitoring for normal heat and airflow.
