How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check for stuck buttons: Press each button individually and feel for proper travel and return. A button that feels stuck may be physically jammed.
- 2. Dry the panel: If detergent or water has splashed onto the panel, allow it to dry completely. Do not use a hair dryer on high heat directly on the electronics.
- 3. Access the UI board: Remove the screws securing the control console and gently lift it away. Inspect the keypad membrane and UI PCB for corrosion or damage.
- 4. Inspect ribbon cable: Ensure the ribbon cable between the keypad and board is fully seated and not torn.
- 5. Replace faulty UI assembly: If buttons remain unresponsive or E20 persists, replace the user interface board or complete console assembly as specified for your Magic Chef model.
