Possible Causes
Blocked pressure hose, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor, Air leak in pressure hose, Faulty main control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply before removing panels.
- 1. Locate the pressure sensor: Remove the top panel. Find the small round or rectangular pressure sensor connected to a thin rubber hose from the tub.
- 2. Inspect the pressure hose: Check the entire length for kinks, cracks, or disconnections. Remove the hose from the sensor and tub, then blow through it to clear soap residue or lint.
- 3. Check for water in the hose: Water trapped in the hose can cause false readings. Shake out any water and ensure the tub air chamber is not clogged with detergent buildup.
- 4. Test the pressure sensor: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance across its terminals while gently blowing into the port (if specified by the service manual). No change in reading suggests a faulty sensor.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Reconnect the hose and wiring securely. Run a small load to verify correct filling and that E8 is cleared.
- 6. If problem persists: The main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and may require replacement.
