Possible Causes

Stuck water inlet valve, blocked pressure hose, faulty pressure switch, drain pump not removing water fast enough

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off both hot and cold water supplies. Be prepared for water spillage.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Verify water level: If the drum is overfilled, manually drain via the pump filter or by lowering the drain hose into a bucket.
  • 2. Inspect inlet valves: With water supply off and hoses removed, check the inlet valve screens for debris and clean them. If water continues to flow into the tub when the unit is unplugged and water is turned on, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • 3. Check pressure system: Inspect and clear the pressure hose and air dome as described under F05. Replace the pressure switch if it does not change state when you blow into it.
  • 4. Confirm drain performance: Ensure the drain hose is not kinked and the standpipe is not blocked. Clean the pump filter and check the pump impeller for obstructions.
  • 5. Test run: After corrections, run a rinse and spin cycle while monitoring fill and drain. If F09 recurs, further diagnosis of the control board may be needed.
