Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump filter, Foreign object in Miele drain pump impeller, Blocked drain hose or standpipe, Defective drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Water may be hot; wear gloves and have towels or a shallow tray ready.
- Access drain filter: Open the service flap at the lower front of the machine. Place a tray under the drain filter cover.
- Drain residual water: If equipped, pull out the emergency drain hose and drain into a container. Then slowly unscrew the pump filter cap.
- Clean the filter: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump cavity. Rotate the impeller with your finger to ensure it spins freely.
- Check drain hose: Inspect the drain hose at the back for kinks or clogs. Detach from the standpipe or sink siphon and flush through with water if necessary.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the filter securely, close the flap, reconnect power, and run a drain/spin cycle. If F11 persists, the drain pump motor or wiring may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
