Possible Causes
Defective NTC temperature sensor in wash tub, Loose or corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness to NTC, Faulty control board temperature circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully.
- Locate NTC sensor: The wash NTC is usually mounted in the outer tub near the heater. Access from the rear or front depending on model.
- Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is fully seated and free of corrosion or moisture.
- Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure the NTC resistance at room temperature and compare to Miele specifications (commonly around 10–20 kΩ at 20°C, but check service data). If reading is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the NTC.
- Inspect harness: Follow the wiring from the NTC to the control board, checking for pinched, broken, or burned wires.
- Control board check: If NTC and wiring are good, the control board's temperature input may be defective and require professional replacement.
