Possible Causes
Defective Miele door lock assembly, Misaligned door catch/striker, Broken door handle mechanism, Wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the door lock. Do not force the door closed.
- Check door closure: Ensure no laundry is trapped between the door seal and glass. Close the door firmly until you hear a positive click.
- Inspect door catch: Examine the plastic door hook and the metal striker on the cabinet for damage or looseness. Tighten mounting screws if needed.
- Test lock operation: With power restored, start a program and listen for the lock engaging. If there is no click and the error appears, the lock may be faulty.
- Replace door lock (intermediate): Remove the front retaining band from the door seal, peel back the seal, and access the door lock assembly. Disconnect wiring, remove mounting screws, and install a new genuine Miele lock.
- Wiring/control issues: If a new lock does not resolve the fault, the wiring harness or control board output may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
