Washer-dryer shows general control fault, may not start or may stop mid-cycle

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing any electronic components.

• Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes, then reconnect and try a short program. Sometimes transient faults clear after a reset.
• Inspect control area: Remove the top cover and locate the main control board. Check for obvious signs of damage: burnt components, bulging capacitors, or water ingress.
• Check connectors: Ensure all harness plugs are fully seated and free of corrosion. Reseat connectors one at a time.
• Surge protection: If the fault occurred after a power outage or surge, consider using a surge protector after repair.
• Board replacement: If visible damage is present or F39 persists, the control board likely needs replacement and programming by a Miele-authorized technician.
