Possible Causes
Foreign object trapped between inner drum and outer tub, Worn drum support wheels (if fitted in dryer section), Damaged drum spider or baffle, Worn drive belt rubbing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before inspecting internal components.
- Inspect drum interior: Check for loose drum lifters (baffles) and sharp edges. Tighten or replace loose baffles.
- Check for foreign objects: Shine a flashlight through drum holes to look for bra wires or nails between drum and tub. Sometimes these can be fished out with a flexible grab tool.
- Inspect belt and pulleys: Remove the rear panel and check the drive belt and pulley for wear or misalignment. Replace a frayed or glazed belt.
- Professional removal: If a foreign object cannot be removed externally, the tub may need to be split to access it, which is a technician-level repair.
