Possible Causes
Slipping or broken drive belt, Seized drum bearings, Faulty motor or motor capacitor, Control not energizing motor in dry cycle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Drum and heater can be hot; allow to cool.
- Check belt: Remove the rear panel and inspect the drive belt. Replace if broken or loose.
- Test drum rotation: Turn the drum by hand. If stiff or seized, bearing or obstruction issues must be resolved before further use.
- Motor test: If the belt and drum are fine, the motor or its capacitor (if fitted) may be faulty and should be tested and replaced as needed.
- Control issue: If the motor works in wash but not in dry, the control board's dry-cycle motor output may be defective and requires technician diagnosis.
