Possible Causes
Stuck dispenser drawer, Clogged dispenser housing with detergent residue, Failed dispenser motor or diverter valve, Broken dispenser linkage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the dispenser assembly.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Remove and clean dispenser drawer: Pull out the drawer and press the release tab to remove it completely. Soak in warm water and scrub away detergent buildup.
- 2. Inspect dispenser housing: Look inside the housing for mold, residue, or foreign objects. Clean thoroughly with a brush and mild cleaner.
- 3. Check dispenser motor/diverter: Access the dispenser motor or diverter valve from the top or side of the cabinet. Verify the linkage moves freely and is not jammed.
- 4. Test motor operation: With the unit in diagnostic mode (if available), activate the dispenser motor and listen for movement. If silent, test the motor for continuity and replace with an OEM Monogram dispenser motor if open.
- 5. Reassemble and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, run a cycle and confirm proper dispensing and that E19 is cleared.
When to call a technician: If the motor and housing are fine but E19 persists, the control board output to the dispenser may be faulty and should be professionally checked.
