Possible Causes
Blocked detergent drawer channels, Faulty multi-way inlet valve, Build-up of detergent residue, Misrouted or kinked dispenser hoses
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply before removing hoses or the top cover.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Clean detergent drawer: Remove the drawer completely and wash under hot water. Use a brush to clear all channels and siphon caps. Clean the housing inside the machine.
- 2. Check water jets: With the drawer removed and the machine briefly powered, start a fill and observe the water jets in the dispenser housing (do not touch live parts). Ensure water flows evenly. Then unplug again.
- 3. Inspect dispenser hoses: Remove the top cover and check the hoses from the dispenser to the tub. Ensure they are not kinked, blocked, or detached.
- 4. Test multi-way valve: Montpellier washer-dryers may use a multi-outlet inlet valve to direct water to different compartments. Test each coil for correct resistance and replace the valve if any coil is faulty.
- 5. PCB control: If the valve and drawer are clean and functional but E17 persists, the PCB may not be energising the correct valve coils. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
