Possible Causes

Blocked pressure chamber or pressure hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Stuck water inlet valve, Control PCB water level sensing fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and turn off water supply immediately if overfilling occurs to prevent flooding.

  • Stop the water: Turn off the inlet taps and unplug the New World washer-dryer. If the drum is overfull, manually drain via the pump filter or drain hose into a bucket.
  • Check pressure hose: Locate the thin rubber or plastic hose running from the bottom side of the tub (pressure chamber) to the pressure switch near the top. Remove it and blow through gently to ensure it is clear. Clean any soap scum or sludge from the tub connection.
  • Inspect pressure switch: Examine the water level pressure switch for signs of damage or corrosion at the terminals. With a multimeter, test for switching continuity while gently blowing into the pressure port. Replace if it does not switch reliably.
  • Check inlet valve for sticking: With water supply off and machine unplugged, remove the top panel and inspect the water inlet valve. If water continues to flow into the machine when the valve is not energised (taps on, machine off), the valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Test operation: After cleaning and replacing faulty parts, reassemble, restore water and power, and run a short wash. Monitor the fill level. If E04 recurs, the main control PCB may be misreading the pressure signal and should be evaluated by a technician.
