Possible Causes
Failed dryer heating element, Open thermal cut-out (TCO) or thermostat, Blocked condenser or lint path causing overheat, Loose wiring to dryer heater assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully before working on the dryer section.
- Clean lint and condenser path: Remove the lower front kick panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the condenser and airflow channels. Vacuum out lint and dust from the condenser fins, fan housing, and ducts. Blocked airflow can trip safety thermostats.
- Check dryer thermostats and TCO: Locate the thermostats and thermal cut-out mounted on or near the dryer heater housing. With wires disconnected, test for continuity. Any open device (that is not resettable) must be replaced.
- Test dryer heating element: Measure resistance across the dryer heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced with a New World-compatible dryer heater.
- Inspect wiring: Check all connectors to the heater, thermostats, and fan motor for heat damage or looseness. Repair or replace as needed.
- Run a drying test: After cleaning and replacing faulty parts, reassemble and run a timed dry cycle. Check for warm air at the vent and confirm E08 does not reappear. If the fault persists, the control PCB dryer relay or sensor circuit may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
