Possible Causes
Shorted component on main control PCB, Surge-damaged power supply circuit, Shorted motor or heater causing PCB protection trip, Damaged mains filter (EMI filter) module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset it only after inspecting for obvious damage or burning smells.
- Visual inspection: Remove the top or rear panel to access the main control PCB and mains filter. Look for burnt components, melted connectors, or scorch marks. If present, the PCB or filter must be replaced.
- Isolate major loads: Disconnect the heater and motor connectors from the PCB and attempt to power on the machine (do not run a full cycle). If E09 clears with loads disconnected, one of these components may be shorted.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the mains interference filter (usually where the power cord enters). Look for bulging capacitors or cracked casing. Replace if damaged.
- Measure insulation: Using an insulation tester (for professionals), check motor and heater for earth leakage. Replace any component with low insulation resistance.
- Replace PCB if necessary: If no external component is shorted but E09 persists and the PCB shows signs of damage, replace the main control PCB with the correct New World part number. This repair is best carried out by a qualified technician.
