Possible Causes

Water leak into base tray activating float switch, Split door seal, Loose hose clamp on sump or pump, Cracked detergent drawer hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply. Be cautious of water on the floor causing slip hazards.

  • Check for water in base: Tilt the New World washer-dryer slightly forward or to the side (with help) and see if water drains from the base. Remove the lower rear or front panel to inspect the base tray and float switch.
  • Dry the base: Mop up any water in the base tray and gently dry the float switch area. Do not bypass or remove the float switch.
  • Locate the leak source: Run a short fill or rinse cycle while observing the internal hoses, pump, and door seal. Look for drips from the door gasket, sump hose, pump housing, or detergent dispenser hose.
  • Repair leak: Tighten or replace hose clamps, replace split hoses, or fit a new door seal if torn. Ensure the detergent drawer is not overfilled and that its housing is not cracked.
  • Test for recurrence: After repairs, run another cycle and check the base remains dry. If E13 returns without visible leaks, the float switch or wiring may be faulty and should be tested and replaced if necessary.
