Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main PCB, Faulty control panel PCB, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Firmware communication error

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.

  • Inspect control fascia: Check for signs of moisture or detergent residue around the buttons and display. Wipe dry and avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the panel.
  • Check ribbon cable: Remove the top cover and gently release the control panel. Inspect the ribbon cable or harness connecting the user interface to the main PCB. Reseat both ends firmly.
  • Look for damage: Examine the UI PCB for corrosion, burnt components, or cracked solder joints. Replace the control panel assembly if damaged.
  • Power reset: After reassembly, leave the machine unplugged for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and test. If E14 persists, the main control PCB may have a communication fault and should be replaced by a technician.
