Possible Causes

Stuck door interlock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control PCB not sending unlock signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Switch off and unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with excessive strength as this can damage the cabinet.

  • Wait for safety delay: Many New World washer-dryers have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Ensure this time has passed.
  • Emergency release: Check for an emergency door release tab behind the lower front panel or near the pump filter. Pull gently to mechanically release the lock.
  • Inspect door lock: Once open and unplugged, remove the door seal retaining band and access the door interlock. Check for signs of overheating or mechanical jamming. Replace the door lock assembly if suspect.
  • Check handle and latch: Inspect the door handle and latch hook for cracks or wear that might prevent full engagement. Replace damaged parts.
  • Test operation: After replacing components, run a short cycle and confirm the door locks and unlocks correctly. If E15 persists, the PCB output to the lock may be faulty and require professional replacement.
