Possible Causes
Partially blocked pump filter, Obstructed drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object in pump impeller, Kinked internal drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and prepare for water spillage.
- Clean pump filter thoroughly: Open the pump filter cover and remove all debris as described under E03. Rotate the impeller to ensure it moves freely.
- Check standpipe or sink trap: Ensure the household drain is not blocked. A slow household drain can cause E18 even if the machine is fine.
- Inspect internal hoses: Remove rear or bottom panel and check the internal drain hose from pump to rear outlet for kinks or blockages. Clear or replace as needed.
- Test drain performance: Run a drain-only program and time how long it takes to empty. If still slow, the pump may be weak and should be replaced.
